Dissipative processes and dust ion-acoustic shocks in a Q machine device

چکیده
A comparative analysis of the most important dissipative processes occurring during the excitation and propagation of dust ion-acoustic shocks in a Q machine device, among which are the charging of dust grains, the absorption of ions by grains, the transfer of the ion momentum to the grains, and Landau damping, is performed. The relative roles played by dissipative processes in different types of laboratory experiments with complex plasmas are estimated. © 2005 American Institute of Physics. fDOI: 10.1063/1.1885476g

Dust Ion-Acoustic Shocks in a Q Machine Device
Dust ion-acoustic shocks in a Q machine device are considered. For their description the so-called hydrodynamic ionization source model is used. The model is appropriate for the description of the laboratory experiments in a Q machine device and contains the most important basic mechanisms responsible for the formation of the dust ion-acoustic shocks. A comparative analysis of various dissipati...
متن کاملLinear and Nonlinear Dust Acoustic Waves in Quantum Dusty Electron-Positron-Ion Plasma
The behavior of linear and nonlinear dust acoustic waves (DAWs) in an unmagnetized plasma including inertialess electrons and positrons, ions, and mobile positive/negative dust grains are studied. Reductive perturbation method is employed for small and finite amplitude DAWs. To investigate the solitary waves, the Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation is derived and the solution is presented. B...
متن کاملLarge amplitude dust ion acoustic solitons: considering dust polarity and nonextensive electrons
The characteristics of arbitrary amplitude dust ion acoustic solitary waves (DIASWs) are studied in unmagnetized dusty plasmas whose constituents are cold uid ions, nonextensive electrons and stationary negative/positive dust particles. The pseudopotential approach has been used to investigate the structure of localized waves. It is found that, solitary waves exist in a definite interval for th...
متن کاملCompressive and rarefactive dust-ion acoustic solitary waves in four components quantum plasma with dust-charge variation
Based on quantum hydrodynamics theory (QHD), the propagation of nonlinear quantum dust-ion acoustic (QDIA) solitary waves in a collision-less, unmagnetized four component quantum plasma consisting of electrons, positrons, ions and stationary negatively charged dust grains with dust charge variation is investigated using reductive perturbation method. The charging current to the dust grains ca...
متن کاملModulational instability of dust ion acoustic waves in astrophysical dusty plasmas with non thermal electrons
Propagation of dust ion acoustic waves in plasmas composed of nonthermal distributed electrons and stationary dust particles is investigated. Nonlinear Schrdinger equation is derived to describe small amplitude waves, using the reduction perturbation technique. Modulation instability of dust ion acoustic waves is analysed for this system. Parametric investigation indicates that growth rate of...
